Photograph Information

Number of People: Tell us the number of people in the photo.

To categorize your photo, describe one person, as below:

Your subject will be the adult closest to your left hand and in the front (bottom) row, unless only pre-teen children are in the photo.

Pose: What type of pose is this photo?

Posture: What is the posture of the first subject in the photo. While looking at the photo, the first subject is the one furthest to the left and closest to the camera.

Gender Sequence:

Up to this point you have entered data about one subject. Now, tell us the gender of people in the photo by moving from your left to your right across each row, and then from front to back (bottom to top) in all rows showing gender for each subject. Gender is needed for up to 12 people. Ignore the remaining members of groups larger than 12. List by gender as (M) Male, (F) Female or ( C ) Child.

Pre-teen children held by, or next to adults, are considered to be in the same row as that adult.

After entering specifics about the subject of your photo, there are 4 blank boxes for entering text:

Comments or Unusual Items of Note: Enter comments about the photo or people, or unusual aspects or items in the photo.

Additional Names: Enter names (if known) of other people in the photo. (Use same sequence routine as in "Gender").

Surnames: List a maximum of 12 of your family surnames (Last Names), if you so desire.

References or Classification numbers of the Photo

Recording your photo's ID # and next steps.

You will now be asked about entering more photos. Answer "YES" and enter your "Unidentified Photo". (You can enter other photos or at any time later by clicking on "Join" and then "Use your Existing member profile".

A scanned or photocopied photo is needed to verify the computer and visual comparisons within our data base. Scanned images should be at least 4x6 for good reproduction. If possible, scan at 150 dpi. in JPEG format Other formats are acceptable.

If E-mailing photos include your name, address, phone number, e-mail address and Photo ID #. Send to timepast@timepast.org

Do not mail originals. They cannot be returned. Make copies no less than 4x6 in size at reputable places such as "Kinko's" or "CopyMax".Include your name, address, phone number, e-mail address and Photo ID on the back of each photo mailed.
